Extensions & Loft Extensions
More room, built so it looks like it was always there
An extension either disappears into the house or announces itself for the next thirty years. The difference is usually in the details nobody itemises on a quote: how the brick bond is matched, where the eaves line lands, whether the new floor level agrees with the old one.
We build single-storey rear extensions, side returns, two-storey additions and loft extensions across Sevenoaks District and Kent — including the steel and structural work needed to open the existing house up to the new space.
Rear and side extensions
Kitchen-diners, garden rooms off the back of the house, side returns that square off an awkward plan. We handle the foundations, the structure, the opening-up into the existing house, the roof — flat, pitched or lantern — and the glazing.
Two-storey and wrap-around
Adding upstairs means the foundations, the structure and the roof all have to carry more, and the planning case is harder. We build them, and we will tell you at the first visit whether the existing house is a sensible thing to build on top of.
Loft extensions
Dormers, rooflights, stairs, insulation, fire separation and the structural work to take the load off the existing ceiling joists. Head height and stair position decide whether a loft is worth doing — we measure both before you spend anything on drawings.
Making old and new agree
Matched brick and render, matched tile, aligned eaves and reveals, and a floor level that does not need a step. This is the part that makes an extension look like architecture rather than an afterthought.
