Interior Finishing
The last five per cent everyone actually looks at
Everything structural can be right and a project can still feel cheap, because finishing is where cost is quietly saved on most builds. We would rather spend the extra week: scribed skirting, doors that shut properly, a staircase that feels solid underfoot, flooring set out from the centre of the room.
We do this as the last stage of our own renovations, conversions and new builds, and as a standalone job on projects other people have built.
Staircases, balustrades and structural joinery
Oak treads, painted strings, steel and glass balustrades, galleries and voids. A staircase is the largest piece of furniture in a house and the one thing everybody touches, so it is worth the setting-out time.
Flooring and plastering
Herringbone and plank engineered oak, tiling and stone, over properly prepared and levelled subfloors. Skim, float-and-set and dry-lining, with the edges and reveals sharp — a wavy reveal ruins an otherwise good room.
Kitchens, bathrooms and built-in joinery
Fitting supplied kitchens and bathrooms, or building in wardrobes, benches, media walls and utility runs to suit the space. We handle the plumbing and electrical coordination so the tap, the socket and the tile all end up where they were drawn.
Doors, trim and decoration
Doors hung to close cleanly, scribed skirting and architrave, shadow gaps where the design wants them, then filling, caulking and painting. The boring list is exactly what separates a good finish from an adequate one.
