Rendered Rear Elevation, New Glazing and Planted Garden

The rear of a renovated house, photographed from the bottom of the garden. The elevation has been rendered white, a gable built up with a pair of grey-framed windows, and the whole ground floor opened up behind a long run of grey aluminium sliding glazing.
A renovation this comprehensive is really several trades in sequence — structure and openings, roof and render, glazing, then the internal work behind it. Doing it as one contract rather than four separate jobs is what keeps the details agreeing with each other.
The garden was finished at the same time: a paved terrace across the back, a bed of ornamental grasses and shrubs curving away from it, and a re-turfed lawn. It is the last week of a programme and the first thing anybody sees.
